When someone is living with depression, anxiety or a long term mental health condition, the basics are often the hardest part. Getting up, eating, leaving the house, keeping an appointment.
Our support workers help rebuild a routine without taking control of it. Visits happen at the same times, with the same people, which matters a great deal when everything else feels unmanageable.
We work with adults of any age across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, alongside community mental health teams, care coordinators and GPs. Everything we do is built around what you want to be able to do again, not what we assume you need.
What mental health support at home includes
Your plan is built with you, and only ever includes what you want it to. Typically it covers:

- Encouragement with washing, dressing, eating and sleep patterns
- Medication prompts, and monitoring where it is in your care plan

What a typical visit looks like
Your support worker arrives at the time agreed and asks how the week has been, then follows your lead. There is no script and no assessment happening in the background.
Some visits are practical: sorting post, a supermarket trip, cooking something proper, tackling a form that has been sitting on the table for a month. Some are quieter, and that is a perfectly good use of the hour.
Before leaving they agree with you what would help most next time. If they are worried about you, they say so to you first, and then to your care coordinator with your agreement.

Common questions about mental health support
Are your support workers trained in mental health?
Every support worker completes mental health awareness training alongside their core induction, with regular supervision. They are not clinicians, and they work alongside your care team.
Will you work with my care coordinator or community nurse?
Yes, and it works better when we do. With your agreement we share what we notice and follow the plan already in place.
What if I do not want to talk on a particular day?
That is fine. The visit still happens, and your support worker will get on with something practical instead.
Can visits be flexible when I am having a difficult week?
Within reason, yes. Times can be adjusted, and where a visit is not wanted we would rather check in briefly than not come at all.
Is this counselling or therapy?
No. This is practical support at home. If therapy is what would help, we can support you to get to appointments, but we do not provide it.
Do you support people funded by the local authority?
Yes. We work with private funding, local authority funding and direct payments, and can talk you through the options.
