Our story
TKS Staffing was founded in 2014 to do something straightforward: provide the kind of home care we would want for our own families.
We have grown into a trusted local provider, supporting adults across Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Swadlincote, Lichfield, Rugeley and the surrounding Derbyshire and Staffordshire communities. We have stayed deliberately local, because knowing the area means shorter journeys between visits, more time in the home, and carers who understand the communities they work in.
What has not changed is the way we work. Every care package still begins with a conversation and a free home assessment, and every plan is still built around the person rather than around our rota.
What person-centred care actually means to us
It is a phrase every care provider uses, so here is what it means in practice.
We start with the routine you already have.
Not a standard visit template. If you have had breakfast at the same time for forty years, we work around that.
We do things with you, not for you.
Independence is the goal. If you can still manage part of a task, we support that part and leave the rest to you.
We tell you the truth.
About what care will cost, about what is realistic within a visit, and about anything we notice that concerns us.

Meet the team
Care is delivered by people, so it matters who they are. Our office team plans and reviews every care package, and our carers are the people you will actually see at your door.
The people we send into your home
We recruit for character first. Every carer joins us through the same route: an interview focused on values, an enhanced DBS check, references, right to work checks, and a paid induction before their first solo visit.
Our carers come from communities across the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia, and that range is one of our strengths. It means we can often match a carer to a client's language, culture or dietary needs, and it means our team brings a genuine breadth of experience into every home.
Training does not stop at induction. Every carer completes ongoing training in safeguarding, moving and handling, medication, infection control and person-centred care, with additional training in dementia and end-of-life care for the teams who need it.

Regulated, inspected and accountable
TKS Staffing is registered with the Care Quality Commission and rated Good. Our inspection report is published in full, and we would encourage anyone considering care to read it.
Behind that rating sits the routine work: care plans reviewed regularly, spot checks on visits, supervision for every carer, a clear complaints procedure, and audits of medication and record keeping. If something goes wrong we want to hear about it quickly, and we will tell you what we have changed as a result.
